Outside the bed-room mother was grumbling. Her words were quite audible. Rathna pinched her husband’s mouth.

‘Look! What mummy is saying! After marriage you’re going round holding my nightie!’

Kumar burst out in laughter!

‘When this news will go out that I go round holding your nightie, your parents will think you’re happy here. Otherwise they will split our family and take you and me both away. Mummy should be with us. And for this, I hold your nightie and go round!’
